What are all the benefits to darkroom developing??

i need to know all the benefits for a VERY important research report and im having a hard time coming up with enough...help?

You get to participate in a hundred-seventy year old process.


You get to make decisions about the contrast and density of your image.


Depending on film size, you are getting higher resolution than is yet possible digitally.


A darkroom is like a ritual space for producing your images, and the process itself is highly ritualized, something you don%26#039;t get from Photoshop.
What are all the benefits to darkroom developing??
Over expose and under develop too bring out detail in shadows.


Under expose and over develop too tone down high lights.

Reply:I%26#039;m not entirely sure if this is the answer you%26#039;re looking for, but seeing the print you%26#039;ve composed, exposed, developed, and printed carefully come up in the developer is an experience that is truly amazing. I know I feel much greater accomplishment through printing using the darkroom than I ever felt with digital.





Not to mention the fact that black and white paper is pretty much archival if processed correctly, they can easily last 100-125 years without fading with proper processing.
